LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Susan LaCoe, human resources director at Zeon Chemicals L.P., has only been with the company seven months. But she said the Best Place to Work program at Zeon, which started in 2016, is the best she has encountered.
"I am very fortunate," LaCoe said. "I've worked for some very large companies, but the executive committee at Zeon has been tremendous in listening to feedback and allowing us to do what people want."
Employee feedback at the Louisville-based chemical company has been the key to its entire BPTW program, according to LaCoe.
"We really tried to get the pulse of the organization," she said. "We were trying to understand what we needed the HR program to be. We wanted to know what we do well."
And now that program has led to Zeon being named one of Rubber & Plastics News' Best Places to Work for 2019, based on responses from its own employees through a survey conducted by Best Companies Group.
Among the benefits Zeon provides its employees are health evaluation and awareness programs (including free fresh fruit in the break rooms), employer-paid health insurance (including dental), 12 days of paid vacation annually and aid with student loans.
