WYANDOTTE, Mich.—BASF opened a development center for its thermoplastic polyurethane materials in October.
The Wyandotte-based lab is open to BASF customers worldwide, allowing them to formulate and test their products at the site. It features a range of pilot scale equipment which enables clients to make flat-die sheet and films as well as cable tubing and jackets.
Nabarun Roy, head of product development for TPU in North America, said that the site also has coextrusion equipment that offers customers everything they need at a pilot scale.
The firm added that the facility will allow it to elevate its innovation capability within the TPU market.
