PITTSBURGH—Lanxess Corp., a chemical manufacturer that serves an array of industries, has been named the Supplier of the Year by Avient Corp., a firm that specializes in sustainable material solutions.
Specifically, Avient, based in Avon Lake, Ohio, honored the Lanxess Polymer Additives unit for its "high-quality, innovative products and sustainability achievements."
"It is a truly an honor to receive this award from Avient," said Glen Bowen, head of business unit Polymer Additives for the Americas region at Lanxess. "While we are very proud of this achievement and thankful for the recognition, I am certain that this will only further fuel our team to continue providing our customers with problem-solving solutions and excellent customer service."
Lanxess has supplied Avient with Mesamoll for the last 10 years, a plasticizer technology that has helped Avient transition away from phthalate-based plasticizers.
"The product has played a significant role in enhancing Avient's consumer safety profile, particularly in applications like screen printing for notable consumer brands," Avient stated in a Sept. 12 press release announcing the award.
Lanxess also achieved Ecovadis' Platinum certification last year, placing the chemical supplier in the top one percent for environmental and social governance.
