French Oil Mill Machinery Company understands partnership and process improvement

As companies focus on continuous improvement efforts and reducing operating costs, the need for process improving equipment and partners has become critical in achieving these goals.

French has been custom engineering and manufacturing hydraulic press systems to meet customer’s unique requirements for over 100 years. In 1908, the Ohio-based company first marketed a 24,000 pound hydraulic press to the oilseed industry to extract vegetable oil out of cottonseeds. Since then, they have continuously innovated their press designs and adapted their technology to improve rubber molding processes based on the needs of the customer.

French’s method is a departure from the typical vision of a sales interaction. Company Chairman and CEO, Daniel P. French, sheds light on their sales and partnership methods by explaining, “Our approach…is to sit on the same side of the desk as the customer and put the problem on the other side of the desk.”

Whether you need a stand-alone press or a system interfaced with automated material and mold handling equipment for unattended manufacturing, French’s team of executives, salesmen and engineers will work closely with your company executives, plant managers and other critical staff to fully understand your company goals and processing methods.

Using this knowledge, their experienced engineers design hydraulic press solutions that deliver a positive impact on the bottom line by means of increased productivity, reduced energy usage, less scrap and improved product quality. In addition, French’s heavy-duty hydraulic press systems and processing equipment are known to operate reliably with a long lifespan, reducing downtime and overall life cycle costs.

Hydraulic press designs generally range from 20 tons to 2,000 tons. They may include various heated platen sizes for compression, transfer, lamination or vacuum molding. French’s designs are driven by detailed quality programs and are consistently upgraded with enhancements in automation and advanced electrical control systems. When companies work with French, they know they have access to the top-of-the-line technology and resources.

As Mr. French states, “…when we’re all on the same side of the desk, we come up with a better solution and have a good time doing it!” For more than 120 years, this vision of partnership has proven to be better for their customers and subsequently for their customers’ customers.
