It starts with the Friday phone call; you need product by tomorrow or the whole line will shut down. We all know that feeling. Who do you turn to in that moment? Our customers turned to us.
Most of the warehouse staff had left for the day and the office was similarly bare. We did not regretfully decline to meet the order or hide behind the fact that it would be extremely difficult to get a carrier to come in for the load. HB Chemical did what it has been known to do countless times over the 34 years that it has been in business – we got to work.
Abby Jones – our shipping and logistics manager – began working diligently on recruiting drivers and recovering warehouse staff. She worked until the early hours of the next morning after numerous drivers fell off the load. In the end our customer received the material that they needed to run early Saturday, they were able to keep the line running and satisfy their order requirements on time.
This story has two important points I hope you remember.
First, HB Chemical will do the work to support our customers. The lengths that Abby and our team went to are not saved for special customers or large orders. It is the same energy and personal touch that we put into every order that comes across our desks. If you need something from us, we will do all we can to get it done; if we can’t get it done, we will point you in the direction of someone who can. HB Chemical does not support our business on rush fees, repackaging costs, or less than skid penalties. You – our loyal customers – are what sustain us, and you are the reason we love going above and beyond to meet your needs. You have been our valuable partners in helping us through this crazy year and we could not thank you enough.
