PERNIK, Bulgaria—Trelleborg Sealing Solutions launched its expanded liquid silicone rubber manufacturing facility in Pernik, enabling the company to better focus on LSR manufacturing and enhanced customer service.
Construction on the 1,800-sq.-ft. expansion began last year. It includes both production and warehouse space that will play a key role in helping to expand sales of LSR products for a variety of industries, according to Trelleborg. Opened in 2010, the facility produces LSR products for automotive, pharmaceutical, sanitary and household applications.
In a statement, Alexander Kolev, general manager of the Pernik facility, noted that the recently expansion has potential to strengthen Trellborg's LSR business, especially as it collaborates with the firm's Swiss center of excellence for LSR in Stein am Rhein, Switzerland.
"By adding to our manufacturing facility," Kolev said, "we are now able to demonstrate capacity that will make it possible to utilize our capabilities further and thereby to grow our business at an even higher pace. It is a significant milestone for our facility in Pernik."
The inauguration was attended by Pernik Mayor Vyara Tserovska and Pernik region Governor Irena Sokolova, along with employees and Trelleborg management.
