PHILADELPHIA—Stockwell Elastomerics Inc. has written a white paper focusing on silicones for long-lasting sealing performance.
Stockwell President Bill Stockwell and Engineer Eric French authored the paper, titled "Gasket Tape—Silicone Sponge and Silicone Foam for Long Lasting Sealing Performance." The paper is available online at Stockwell.com/gasket-tape.
Stockwell said the paper explores various silicone options that will perform well for the anticipated life of the equipment, for instance those installed in outdoor conditions and harsh environments. The paper outlines a definition for gasket tape, why users should choose to use silicone rubber for gasket tapes, whether to use silicone foam or closed cell silicone sponge, available adhesive backings, types of standard gasket tape products and custom gasket tapes.
"This gasket tape whitepaper is a content-rich technical guide to silicone gasket tape," Stockwell said in a statement. "It can be used to help select the right gasket tape material and adhesives for various applications."
