BALLSTON SPA, N.Y.—Specialty Silicone Products has signed an exclusive sales agreement with Queensland Gaskets, covering Australia and New Zealand.
SSP said in a news release that Queensland produces gaskets in a variety of materials, shapes and sizes. The firm supplies EMI and RFI shielding to the Australian defense market.
According to SSP, because the U.S. is a world leader in defense technologies, companies in allied countries look for American partners with proven materials that meet U.S. military specifications. The agreement comes during a time where Australia has announced that its defense spending will reach 2 percent of gross domestic product by June of 2021, according to SSP.
"SSP could not be more excited, and 40 hours of flying in five days is well worth it," Dominic Testo, SSP's business development manager, said in a statement. "I have all the confidence in the world that the QG team will have great success with SSP's EMI/RFI shielding elastomers, military-grade silicones, and many other specialized silicone materials."
Based in Ballston Spa, SSP produces EMI/RFI shielding elastomers, military-grade silicone and other specialized silicone materials. In additionl to its agreement with Queensland, the firm said it has similar relationshiops with partners in Italy, England, Canada and Singapore.
