NISKAYUNA, N.Y.—Momentive Performance Materials Inc. is expanding its specialty silicones capacity with a new manufacturing facility in Rayong, Thailand.
The unit, which the company called its "largest growth investment" will increase the company's manufacturing capacity to serve the growing Southeast Asian market demand, according to a February news release.
The facility will be Momentive's second plant in Rayong and will supply industries such as automotive, energy, health care, and beauty and personal care.
The project is part of the company's "in-region-for-region strategy" to provide a reliable supply capability for Southeast Asia customers, said VP Nalian, president and general manager of Momentive's performance additives business.
Nalian said the facility represents Momentive's commitment to innovative and sustainable solutions and meeting "the most stringent production process safety standards."
"We remain committed to creating value for our customers, our partners, our employees, our environment and our local communities," Nalian said.
