CHICAGO Edward (Ed) Farrugia, a long-time Goodyear executive, died Jan. 12 at age 74.
Farrugia served in the Marine Corps and fought in the Vietnam War.
In 1970, he joined Goodyear, starting as a sales associate in Detroit and then serving in numerous management positions over the next 46 years. He retired as general manager of consumer tire sales in September 2016.
He and his family relocated nine times and made many friends within the Goodyear family and with many tire dealers around the country, according to his obituary.
Preceded in death by his son, Joseph, Farrugia is survived by his wife, Marilyn, daughters Sandy (Paul) and Michelle (Ken), and seven grandchildren.
