STEVENAGE, England—Recticel has earned two more FIRA gold certifications for its Foam Flex Comfort seat (30/110 and 30/080) and foam Flex Reversible seat (33/110 and 30/080) products.
Furniture products which pass BS EN ISO 3385:2014 Flexible Cellular Polymeric Materials Determination of fatigue by constant-loud pounding, can gain the certificate.
To achieve the certificate, the cushions were subject to constant load pounding tests of more than 80,000 cycles of 750 N. The foam retained enough hardness and thickness to make it suitable for all domestic use; private and commercial vehicle seats; and, for cinema armrest.
In addition, both of the Recticel foams passed schedule one part one of the Furniture And Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) regulations 1988 (as amended).
Finally, Recticel's factory was audited by FIRA International. This was to ensure that all the processes and procedures involved in making foam flex cushion foam are suitable. The auditor said that Recticel has a good quality-assurance system in operation and that it supports the production process.
FIRA International is a United Kingdom-based furniture testing center.
Recticel previously won the certificates for its Foamflex Cushion Foam and Foamflex Cushion Slim in January 2016. It also won the accolade for its Aurora Seating product in October 2016.
