KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Polytek Development Corp. will invest about $2.1 million in a new plant and facilities in Comstock Township, Mich., a suburb of Kalamazoo.
The firm, which makes polyurethane systems for casting and mold making, intends to add 28 jobs at the site. Its investment is being helped with a $112,000 grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corp. and Southwest Michigan First.
Based in Easton Pa., Polytek is a platform company owned by Arsenal Capital Partners. It will use the new plant to consolidate work from several other locations, including a competing site in Indiana.
Polytek has several locations from which it could chose to merge work into Michigan following a concerted program of purchases. The company includes previous acquisitions, including BCC Products, purchased in October; Stone Coat Countertops, an epoxy formulator added in August; and ProMarine Supplies, also an epoxy formulator acquired early this year.
Before Arsenal bought Polytek, Polytek expanded when its previous owner bought Alumilite in 2018.
