NOVI, Mich.—Peak Sport Products Co. will use Cooper Standard's proprietary Fortrex technology platform to develop and commercialize next-generation foamed midsoles in athletic shoes, Cooper Standard announced.
Cooper Standard will provide licensing, technical information and Fortrex materials and catalysts to Peak through its Applied Materials Science business, Cooper Standard said.
"This agreement illustrates the diversity of our Applied Materials Science business and the breadth of applications in our Fortrex chemistry platform," said Jeffrey DeBest, president of Cooper Standard's Advanced Technology Group, in a press release.

Fortrex materials can take on many forms, including dense extrusions, membranes, foams and films, the company said. The technology offers excellent durability, compression set resilience, temperature resistance, light weight and fast processing, and can be adapted for a wide range of applications, it said.
