OLMSTED FALLS, Ohio—The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has cited American Wire and Cable Co. of Olmsted Falls for 25 alleged serious violations, according to a news release. The company, a supplier to the appliance industry, now faces proposed penalties of $185,640.
American Wire and Cable makes wire housed in PVC, crosslinked polyethylene, rubber and other materials.
OSHA conducted safety and health inspections of American Wire and Cable in April 2019, finding violations related to fall protection, blocked exits, machine guarding and more. The inspectors also found that employees lacked training on procedures such as first aid and emergency action plans.
