NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Holcim Building Envelope, a business segment of the Swiss firm Holcim Group, has released a new acrylic roof coating, one that can be applied in a single pass.
According to Holcim, GacoFlex A48 maintains high-film build and a fast cure time (about eight hours, with rain resistance in 30 minutes), one that can be applied "up to 80 wet mils," or five gallons per square foot.
The material boasts a "long roof life, upgraded visual appeal, strong adhesion, high tensile strength and excellent reflectivity."
"For over 60 years, Gaco has provided innovative, market-leading products that help contractors succeed and make their businesses more efficient," said Carl De Leon, senior vice president of technology for Holcim Building Envelope. "A48 leverages the latest developments in roof coating technology, resulting in a sustainable product that streamlines the application process."
