MANHEIM, Pa.—After initially agreeing to a rental arrangement, Fenner Precision Inc. has purchased a new MonTech GmbH moving die rheometer for its laboratory for advanced materials.
The performance of the MonTech MDR 3000 Basic pushed Fenner to make the purchase, rather than upgrading an older rubber testing machine with new PLC controls and software.
"Our focus on quality is critical to everything we do here are Fenner," said Luis Enriquez, materials development manager for Fenner Precision. "We understand that we can only guarantee product consistency in line with our customers' high standards by using the best equipment available. The reliability of data is crucial to us and our new MonTech moving die rheometer is invaluable in material research and development as well as quality control."
As part of the transaction, MonTech integrated Fenner's laboratory instruments into its "MonControl" database, transferring historical data to the new software—which allows for smoother data entry and access.
"Shortly after the installation of the new device, the users in the lab were so impressed with the capabilities and usability of the MDR 3000 Basic that they were able to make a solid case to the Fenner management for an outright purchase," said Mark Galliver, sales manager at Engelmann and Buckham, U.K. agents for Buchen, Germany-based MonTech.
Fenner said that since its acquisition by Michelin Group in 2018, there has been significant investment in the company. Fenner works in rubber, silicone and polyurethane solutions for a range of applications, from belting and moldings to sheeting and seals.
