NORTHVILLE, Mich.—For the seventh consecutive year, Cooper-Standard Automotive Inc. has earned EcoVadis' Silver for its sustainability efforts. The award puts the Northville-based auto supplier in the top 87 percent of responding companies.

Further, the company's score increased slightly this year, according to a news release.
To earn EcoVadis Silver, companies must demonstrate a high level of sustainability in 21 sustainability benchmarks in the areas of environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.
For Cooper-Standard, the EcoVadis rating is affirmation of the sustainability vision the company has set forth. Patrick Clark, Cooper-Standard's senior vice president and managing director of global automotive, detailed some of the company's aims during a discussion with Rubber News earlier this year.
"We recognize what a commitment like that to sustainability has on the organization and the overarching contribution that it makes to our purpose, which we (articulated) last year: Creating Sustainable Solutions Together," Clark said.
