HANOVER, Germany—Continental A.G.'s ContiTech business has reached an agreement with Menke Agrar for the distribution of ContiTech drive belts.
A subsidiary of Agravis Group, Hanover-based Menke Agrar is one of the top independent providers of replacement parts and accessories for agricultural machinery, with sales channels in Germany and Europe, ContiTech said in a statement.
The company will be distributing Continental's Agridur portfolio of belts, which are specifically made for the agricultural sector and were launched in 2016. The belts primarily are produced at the company's site in Hanover, and include a broad range of products such as wrapped V-belts, banded V-belts, variable speed belts, and poly-V-belts.
"We are opening up new options for the market and untapped potential for both companies by combining our partner's sales network with our technological expertise," Rodrigo Maia, head of the drive system industrial business unit at Continental, said in a news release.
The German distributor registered sales of around $7.3 billion in 2019, according to ContiTech.
