TOKYO—Zeon Corp. is expanding its technical support team for synthetic rubber products in India in response to "growing market demand."
In a July 31 statement, Zeon said that, until now, technical support for the Indian market was primarily provided by staff based in Singapore and other countries.
To bolster its support services, the Japan-based group has now put in place a team of "full-time local staff" with technical expertise in synthetic rubber.
This, it said, will accelerate "provision of high-demand technical support, including advice on formulating synthetic rubber compounds, vulcanization conditions and compound properties."
With the new team, Zeon now has six technical-support bases for elastomer products—in Japan, the U.S., Germany, China, Singapore and India—to ensure "accurate responses to regional needs."
In India, the group said it has seen "growing demand" for its elastomer products, particularly specialty synthetic rubbers used in automotive parts.
With India set for rapid economic growth, Zeon expects an increase in volume of car production leading to increased demand from the industry.
Zeon's Indian subsidiary Zeon India Pvt. Ltd. has been operational in Gurgaon, India, since 2015. The subsidiary supplies synthetic rubbers, latexes, chemicals and materials for lithium-ion batteries.
