SANTA ANA, Calif.—Yokohama Tire Corp. (YTC) is collaborating with the California State Parks Foundation, one of a growing list of environmental-related partnerships.
The company will support the Foundation through volunteer work and a community outreach program in which YTC will donate 5 percent of its sales of National Parks-inspired Geolandar merchandise collection.
"Yokohama is honored to help California State Parks Foundation and its mission to protect and preserve the California state park system, for the benefit of all," Alan Holtschneider, Yokohama's director of marketing, said. "They do incredible work, and we're eager to help."
To kick off the partnership, Holtschneider said Yokohama will support the Foundation at three Malibu-area sites: Point Dume State Beach, Malibu Lagoon State Beach and Will Rogers State Historic Park, as well as through three projects in San Diego: Silver Strand State Beach, Palomar Mountain State Park and Old Town San Diego State Historic Park.
"We are truly grateful to be working with Yokohama Tire Corp. to preserve and protect the state park system through stewardship," Rachel Norton, executive director of California State Parks Foundation, said. "Volunteer stewardship projects like these create real positive impacts in parks, while activating Californians to care for these crucial green open spaces."
The California State Parks Foundation is an independent, member-supported nonprofit that mobilizes a diverse network of Californians to be active champions for state parks.
Yokohama also is working with Tread Lightly! and Surfrider North Orange County on several projects to protect and maintain the ecosystem.
