"This measure has been necessitated by rising costs for raw materials and logistics and by the excessive increase in manufacturing related energy costs," Wacker said in an April 6 news release. "Surging energy costs will also result in an increase in existing surcharges for dispersible polymer powders."
Wacker said the price hike allows the company to continue its customer service and support in a difficult market.
Wacker's resins, powders and dispersions are used in construction materials, paints and surface coatings, adhesives, sealants, carpet applications and non-wovens, as well as in fiber composites and other polymeric materials.
