NORWALK, Conn.—Vanderbilt Chemicals L.L.C. has inked an exclusive distribution agreement with Derbyshire, England-based Prisma Colour Ltd. for their line of rubber color masterbatches. The new deal will further expand both companies' product reach throughout North America, Vanderbilt officials said.
Vanderbilt Chemicals is over a century old and has become a leader in the rubber and plastic fields.
Chris Nola, Vanderbilt Chemicals vice president and global business manager, called the move one of "powerful synergy" between the two companies. The distribution deal allows Prisma Colour a chance to put its vast product portfolio and technical acumen to use throughout the NAFTA region, he said.
"Prisma Colour's vast portfolio coupled with their technical support and customer focus make this a great fit with Vanderbilt Chemicals L.L.C." Nola said in a statement. "Color matching can be very difficult for rubber and plastics applications, and Prisma Colour are experts at it."
Prisma Colour Group Managing Director Dominic Philpot echoed Vanderbilt's notion of synergy between the two companies. He said that rubber supply has become one of Prisma Colour's greatest strengths, and the company looks forward to bringing that service to new markets throughout North America.
"Prisma Colour Ltd. started out supplying colored rubber concentrates and this remains one of our core competences," Philpot said. "We have extensive technical resources and know-how, which will be complimented by Vanderbilt Chemicals L.L.C.'s technical and customer focus."
