ELKART, Ind.—U.S. Rep. Rudy Yakym, R-Ind., toured the Dexstar Wheel Co. factory in Elkhart on Jan. 17 to show his support for the U.S. trailer wheel manufacturing. Dexstar Wheel is a subsidiary of Kenda Tire USA.
According to Kenda, Yakym has advocated national initiatives such as Trailer Safety Week and has emphasized the importance of keeping manufacturing jobs in the U.S.
His office said his commitment to American-made products and local industries "are a cornerstone of his legislative agenda."
"I am grateful for the hardworking men and women who show up every day at Dexstar and contribute to making Indiana's Second District the 'Manufacturing Capital of the World,'" Yakym said in a statement.
Dave Craig, vice president for Kenda, said Kenda appreciates the congressman's support.
"His advocacy helps strengthen our efforts to build a more resilient economy. Our shared commitment to keeping manufacturing jobs in the U.S. is vital, and his leadership underscores the importance of this goal," Craig said.
