Uni-Grip Inc. has acquired Trim Gard Co. Ltd., a London, Ontario, extruder of plastic and rubber trim and seals.
Since the acquisition, all of Trim Guard's assets and running production has moved to Uni-Grip's plant in Upper Sandusky, Ohio.
Uni-Grip works with extruded rubber, plastic seals and edge trims for industrial clients. The company has design and tooling capabilities in-house to provide a quick turnaround for new products.
"Trim Gard has always regarded itself as the standard of excellence in all their products," said Andrew Mathias, president of Uni-Grip, in a news release, "and we are glad they chose Uni-Grip to carry on the legacy and brand."
Trim Gard, which also operated under the name Trimco, had been in business for 55 years and gained significant experience in extrusion processes. Uni-Grip plans to use the company's knowledge to support its customers and grow the business.
"This acquisition allows us to offer our customers an expanded line of TPE [thermoplastic elastomer] and PVC extruded products including multiple tape options, mylar, hot melt, butyl, protective topcoat, dual durometer and more," Mathias said in the release.
