Twin Cities Rubber Group golf outing set for Aug. 6

NORTHFIELD, Minn.—The Twin Cities Rubber Group is moving forward with its 56th annual golf outing, set for Aug. 6 at 1 p.m. at Willingers Golf Club in Northfield, Minn.

The outing will support the group's scholarship fund.

"We are proceeding despite the COVID-19 situation and are taking steps to make it a safe and fun event," the club said in a recent news release. "Please keep in mind that the event is subject to change based on governmental guidelines."

Willingers Golf Club said it expects that the banquet room will be open for events by August. If not, the event will have meals served outside and may not be buffet-style.

Twin Cities said players should consider their personal safety regarding cart use. There are not enough carts for each player to have one, however the cart can carry clubs for those who walk.

Wearing a mask and maintaining social distancing is recommended, according to the club.

No cash will be accepted on the course for contests so the cost has been added to registration fees. Additional contest entries and mulligans can be purchased online.

The TCRG awards scholarships to students pursuing a STEM education. The group asks that people consider a donation to the fund if they do not choose to participate. This also can be done online at tcrggolf.com.

Registration is $140 per player, save $10 if registering as a foursome. The cost includes lunch, participation in contests, a cart, three refreshment tickets, social hour, dinner, and door prizes.

Registration deadline is July 16.
