FORT WAYNE, Ind.—Developing a high-performance seal in the oil, gas and energy industries just got a little easier thanks to Trelleborg Sealing Solutions, which now offers an online seal configuration tool.
The interactive program provides specifications to help customers develop a standard or custom seal proposal document.
"We want to make it as easy as possible for our customers to quickly create a range of seal design requests," said James Simpson, global segment director for oil and gas, and energy at TSS. "The Variseal Oil & Gas Seal Selector is a design engineering service created with customers in mind.
"The online platform allows users to view and download the sealing solutions they need, without utilizing multiple engineering resources, saving time and providing results immediately."
The selector program is available at Trelleborg Sealing Solutions' website at www.trelleborg.com.
The program offers options for radial rod, radial piston, axial internal pressure and axial external pressure seals. Users can select application, media, temperature, pressure, groove and design type.
"The tool is useful for a wide range of oil, gas and energy applications including gate, ball and check valves, connectors and downhole tools," Trelleborg said.
Results can be downloaded from the website as a PDF, the company said.
