SPARTANBURG, S.C.—An employee died after being trapped in a machine at the Trelleborg Wheel Systems plant in Spartanburg April 21.
Christopher Rashad Crawford, 37, of Spartanburg, was killed, according to the Spartanburg County Coroner.
The coroner was called to the farm tire plant at 9 p.m. April 21, where Crawford was found trapped in a machine.
The coroner's office and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are investigating the incident.
Trelleborg Wheel Systems said in a statement: "We are focused on supporting our colleague's family at this difficult time and our sympathies are with them.
"Safety is our number one concern at our plants and we are fully cooperating with OSHA as we continue our investigation."
The manufacturing plant, built in 2015, employs about 150.
