Desmasa's compact machine, most effective when used in the nal phase of tire production, can mark multiple shapes and colors.

BURGOS, Spain—Desmasa has introduced a hot stamp robot marking system available to tire manufacturers around the world.

The development of this robot marking system initially arose as a request from a client, according to Andrea Rica, business development and marketing manager for Desmasa. Once the system was provided for that customer as a customizable product, the company discovered it could be integrated into almost any tire production plant as a customized machine for each productive process within the tire sector.

Desmasa’s robot marking system initially was developed at the request of a client. Its versatility makes a key offering today

The standardization of the robot marking system allows for modifications to be made based on the specific needs of each client. Desmasa did not release details on the amount of money it has invested in the new product. However, Rica said that the company has ensured that every hot stamp robot marking system is customizable depending on customer requirements.

Major benefits to those customers are that the system simplifies tire marking and that it can fit all tire sizes and types. It comes in multiple shapes and colors of marking and double marking. The hot stamp robot marking system integrates with the production line and reduces the final cycle time. Flexibility is key for the simplified tire marking process and supports the system's ability to adapt to the large range of tire profiles/sizes in the market.

The robot marking system fits as an external station of the finish-testing line and is fully integrated with other machinery. The system was designed to reduce the final cycle time and take up little space, according to Rica, making it a flexible and versatile way for tire manufacturers to increase efficiency and save time.

"It is a small installation that can be adapted to the final phase of the production chain," Rica said in an email. "It can be placed at any point in the assembly line, although it is recommended to install it before or after the final inspection and near the warehouse, since the tire after being marked can be stored without the need for any further treatment toward the tire."

Most tire manufacturers are likely to need more than one system, but it will depend on the production and the number of tires you want or need to mark in a day, Rica said. In addition, the application is designed so that manufacturers can mark with two shapes or colors without having to change the reel since a different marker would be required.
