CAMBRIDGE, Ontario—The Tire and Rubber Association of Canada is seeking nominations for its 2024 Industry Leadership Awards.
The annual awards "are designed to celebrate achievements and give individuals and organizations a platform to showcase their contribution to the industry, increase their professional profiles and stand out from the competition," TRAC said.
The awards honor "individuals and companies for their dedication and commitment to excellence in the tire and rubber industry, including end-of-life tire management businesses and other businesses focused on sustainability."
Nominations, which are open through April 26, are being accepted in four categories: Leader of the Year; Young Leader; Lifetime Achievement; and Sustainability. For more info, see the TRAC website.
Anyone can nominate a deserving individual or organization, though self nominations are only accepted for corporations in the Sustainability category. Corporate nominess must have a physical presence, such as an office or facility, in Canada, but individual nominees can reside anywhere.
The awards ceremony will take place in conjunction with TRAC's annual general meeting on June 6.
Last year's winners were: Barry Takallou, president and CEO of CRM—leader of the year; Doran Moore, Firestone Tire & Rubber and the Rubber Association of Canada; Adrian Courtenay, Bridgestone Americas; and Manuel Estragadinho, Pliteq—lifetime achievement; Stevyn Arnt, Tire Stewardship of Saskatchewan and Halifax C&D Recycling Ltd.—sustainability; and Ankita Saikia, Tyromer Inc., David Pulla, Dynamic Tires, and Josh Havin, Pliteq—young leaders.
