SWINDON, United Kingdom—As connectivity in automotive manufacturing grows, interest in a new tire pressure monitoring system from Sensata Technologies is increasing.
Using Bluetooth Low Energy radio waves as opposed to UHF radio waves, the new TPMS device is scheduled to be on a "leading North American vehicle OEM" in the first part of 2023. The firm did not disclose which vehicle the technology will be on.
According to Sensata, the snap-on (or clamp-in) BLE TPMS is intended to improve safety, performance and driving experience as the automotive manufacturing market shifts toward smart tires.
