VIENNA—Semperit A.G. Holding has appointed Gabriele Schallegger as chief financial officer for a one-year tenure, beginning Oct. 12. She succeeds Petra Preining, who had taken over the position on an interim basis and will return to Semperit's supervisory board and audit committee in October.
Prior to this, Schallegger served as finance director of the Uncoated Fine Paper Business Unit at Austrian packaging group Mondi, Semperit said in a June 2 news release.
In a statement, Walter Koppensteiner, chairman of Semperit supervisory board said Schallegger was "an extremely competent and experienced financial expert with a strong operational focus."
"Due to her diverse international experience with publicly listed companies, she is ideally suited to effectively shape the further development of the company," he said.
Schalleger studied business administration in Graz, Austria, and Exeter, England, and completed several international management programs, including one in St. Gallen, Switzerland.
