PARIS—Safic-Alcan Group and Imerys S.A. have broadened their longstanding distribution partnership, with the new pact to include performance products.
France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Portugal and Spain are part of the new agreement.
The new partnership will begin Jan. 1, 2022, for rubber industries. Safic-Alcan is a global specialty chemicals distributor, and Imerys offers downstream mineral solutions expertise.
"This is a new step in our cooperation with Safic-Alcan," Imerys Distribution Manager Philippe Reygnier said in a statement. "With this agreement we will provide our customers with better service as Safic will be their unique contact for all of our products.
"We are confident that this will be beneficial to our customers and that Safic-Alcan is ideally suited to the performance of our products thanks to their historical technical expertise."
Safic-Alcan Group and Imerys have worked together in the cosmetics market, and this new agreement extends to performance products, covering kaolin, talc, carbonates, PCC, formica, diatomite, perlite and wollastonite. All of these ingredients serve to make rubber stronger, lighter and more sustainable.
