IEC, Silicone Expo USA joining forces

AKRON—Two of the rubber industry's most anticipated conferences will be held under one roof.

For the first time, the ACS Rubber Division's International Elastomer Conference will be held simultaneously with Silicone Expo USA. It's a collaboration that both organizations say will provide more valuable opportunities for attendees.

"This collaboration is about synergizing our strengths, pooling our resources and increasing our impact on the industry segments we serve," Lakisha Barclay, Rubber Division executive director and CEO, said in a statement.

Both events will be held Sept. 9-12 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh.

At the heart of the collaboration is ensuring a more cohesive, enriching experience for attendees of both events, Rubber Division Chair Anthony Mariniello said.

"By combining forces, both organizations will expand their reach and create even more valuable opportunities for the attendees and exhibitors," Mariniello said in a news release. "Together, we will not just host events, we will orchestrate progress and growth for our great industry."

Considered one of the rubber industry's premier events, the IEC includes an exhibition, technical sessions, networking opportunities and educational courses.

The Silicone Expo, meanwhile, focuses on the latest advancements in silicone technology, bringing together key industry players to explore ideas, materials and advancements.
