CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio—The ACS Rubber Division's International Elastomer Conference may have ended, but the impact that the annual event has on the rubber industry still can be felt.
Bruce Meyer, editor of Rubber & Plastics News, sat down with RPN News Editor Chris Sweeney to discuss the show and the impact of the innovations introduced and showcased during a free webcast event that was livestreamed Oct. 24.
This year's IEC also paved the way for collaboration and involvement by highlighting opportunities for involvement and professional growth, and these will be discussed during the Livestream. The inaugural Women of Rubber Division preconference workshop was designed to empower women as they work to grow their careers and impact the industry, while two "Get Involved!" sessions served as introduction to the many facets of the Rubber Division and the ways in which members can take advantage of professional growth opportunities.
Meyer and Sweeney also will explore what lies ahead for the ACS Rubber Division, which will see leadership changes at the start of 2020 when longtime Executive Director Ed Miller hands the reins of the association over to Lakisha Miller-Barclay.
