EWING, N.J.—Proper delivery and disposal of chemicals is critical in an industry that distributes more than 30 million tons of product every year.
As such, R.E. Carroll Inc., a supplier of raw materials and processing oils for the rubber, paints and coatings, concrete, adhesives and related industries, said Nov. 19 that it has been issued the National Association of Chemical Distributor's Responsible Distribution verification for the current three-year cycle.
R.E. Carrol said the certification affirms the company's commitment to "the health, safety and security of its employees, communities, and the environment" by improving its operations in chemical storage, handling, transportation and disposal.
"Through their successful verification, R.E. Carroll Inc. and its senior leadership have committed to the continuous improvement in the chemical distribution industry's responsible management and handling of chemicals that ensures NACD members effectively support the industries America relies on most, like agriculture, health care, oil and gas, manufacturing equipment and many others," said NACD President Eric Byer.
Third-party, on-site verification is required to achieve the certification, and the program necessitates strict adherence to rules and regulations.
Companies participating in the Responsible Distribution program typically see fewer instances of safety and environmental incidents and better documentation of company policies.
R.E. Carroll has distribution facilities in New Jersey; Dalton, Ga.; Elizabeth, N.J.; Ennis, Texas; and Kent, Ohio.
