"The acts of kindness were as varied as the communities we serve," Thomas said in a statement. "Personally, I can't think of a better way to celebrate our company's longevity than by showing kindness and hospitality to the communities we're connected to. Community involvement may have suffered during COVID, but the need never went away."
R.D. Abbott and manufacturing subsidiary company NovationSi collaborated with more than 55 organizations around North America, officials said. Partnerships included national nonprofit Operation Flags of Freedom, the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank, Barberton, Ohio-based Common Threads Closet, and Crescent Landing at Garden Grove Memory Care.
The company looks to continue its commitment to community service beyond its 75th anniversary, Thomas said. The firm believes that compassion, generosity and care are key to building community inside and outside of the rubber industry.
"We at R.D. Abbott are thankful for all our business partners and the countless personal relationships we've enjoyed through the years," he said. "We hope to continue a legacy of service for many years to come."
