R.D. Abbott, Arlanxeo reach Mexico distribution pact

CERRITOS, Calif.—R.D. Abbott Co. Inc., a rubber supplier and materials science company, can add another North America country to its distribution network after reaching an agreement Nov. 17 to sell Arlanxeo's polymers in Mexico.

R.D. Abbott, which bridges the gap between polymer suppliers and customers by offering comprehensive lab, mixing and design and development services, typically gets its polymers from companies such as Dow Silicones Corp., Lord Corp., German RepRap GmbH and Arlanxeo, and already distributes the Dutch company's polymers throughout the U.S.

The agreement is effective Jan. 1, 2021.

"We look forward to working together in the Mexican market to deliver greater value to customers who want prompt access to trusted Arlanxeo polymers, global compounding expertise, supply assurance through our local customer service and logistics support teams and industrial warehousing in Cuautitlan, Monterrey and Queretaro."

The new pact will be managed by R.D. Abbott de Mexico S. de R.L. de C.V., and includes such polymers as Buna CB (PBR); Buna SE and Plioflex (ESBR); Keltan (EPDM); Krynac and Baymod (NBR and NBR/PVC); Baypren (CR); Therban (HNBR); Taktene (latex); Levamelt and Levapren (EVM); and X Butyl (IIR and HIIR).
