Industry veteran Ayers joins Rubber News sales staff

CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio—Ramona Ayers, a longtime veteran of Struktol Co. of America L.L.C., has joined the Rubber News staff as sales account manager.

In her role, she will connect with clients on their sales and marketing needs, including all print and digital components, custom opportunities, our International Tire Exhibition & Conference in May, and the Hose & Belt Conference in October.

"We are thrilled to have Ramona as part of our team. She brings a unique familiarity to this role and we know she will have a positive impact on the business," said Christine Zernick, sales director for the rubber brands (Rubber News and Tire Business) within the Crain Communications Inc.'s Global Polymer Group.

Ayers joined the rubber industry in 1988 as executive secretary at Struktol of America, a German-owned company, when they were looking for a German-speaking person.

"I was born in Germany and as an Army brat spent many years growing up in Germany, Colorado, and Maryland," she said.

Ayers soon transferred to the Sales & Marketing Department, where she found that she enjoyed dealing with customers. She then moved into a customer communications role, and later served as marketing/special projects manager, before joining the Rubber News team.

"I very much feel like I grew up in the rubber industry as I have had the pleasure of being a part of it for many years," Ayers said. "In my new role as sales account manager, I look forward to growing my relationship with the many companies that have a part in the rubber industry.

She has two grown children and a 15-month-old granddaughter. In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors, spending time hiking, bicycling, gardening and playing pickleball, among other activities. Her partner in adventure is a 5-year old Havachon named Darwin.
