CHICAGO—The Power Transmission Distributors Association is launching Community Conversations, a forum intended to bring industry segments together to discuss relevant topics.
The conversations will take place throughout the year.
"No one understands our industry and its challenges better than the wide-ranging group of PTDA distributor and manufacturer members. I appreciate that we can all come together to share and learn from one another to keep our industry relevant and strong," said Rob LaRue of Baldwin Supply Co.
PTDA members will meet March 19 to discuss evolving sales teams. A second gathering April 19 will center on skill sets and best hiring practices. A conversation on technology will be in May and one on business climate is scheduled for September.
The Women in the Industry Community conduct community conversations four times per year. An initial 2021 call in February was about maintaining strong business relationships in a virtual environment. A May 20 meeting will focus on employee motivation strategies, co-hosted with PT Work Force. Industry women will gather in August to discuss breaking the glass ceiling and conclude 2021 with a call with Next Gen Community, a group for younger members of the industry.
On April 8 this group will discuss tips for staying healthy and productive while working remotely.
