Nominations for PTDA awards open

CHICAGO—The Power Transmission Distributors Association is accepting nominations for two of its prestigious leadership awards, the Wendy B. McDonald Woman of the Year Award and Robert K. Callahan Future Leaders Award.

Nominations will be accepted through June 10 for both, according to the PTDA.

The Wendy B. McDonald Woman of the Year Award honors a woman who has been vital to the success of her company and the power transmission and motion control industry.

Barbara Ross of Garlock Sealing Technologies was named the 2021 recipient.

Among other criteria, the nominee can work anywhere in the world, and there are no restrictions on title or experience.

"Employment by a firm headquartered in Canada is a plus," according to the PTDA.

The Robert K. Callahan Future Leaders Award honors "young and ambitious individuals who demonstrate a passion and drive to grow within the PT/MC industry." Callahan himself supported up and coming young people in the industry with bright futures.

Chris Gumas of Ruland Manufacturing Co. was the inaugural recipient of the award following its establishment in 2021.

Nominees must exhibit leadership and integrity; have worked in the industry for at least five years; and be employed by a PTDA organization.

Nominating forms can be found at ptda.org/WBMcDonaldAward and ptda.org/CallahanAward, respectively. The ceremony will take place at the PTDA Industry Summit in Nashville, Tenn., in October.
