BRUXELLS, Belgium—Prometeon Tyre Group S.r.l. is a full corporate member of the European Tire & Rubber Manufacturers Association, receiving approval from the association's board of directors.
With the addition, the ETRMA has 13 global tire maker members, all of whom have a presence in Europe. In addition to Prometeon, they include: Apollo Tyres, Bridgestone, Continental, Goodyear, Hankook, Michelin, Nexen, Nokian Tyres, Pirelli, Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Toyo Tires and Yokohama.
"We are pleased to join ETRMA, and we look forward to working with the other members and the Secretariat to pursue a supportive legislative and regulatory environment for the industry," Roberto Righi, general manager of Prometeon Tyre Group, said in a statement.
Prometeon, focused on the development and manufacturing of truck/bus, agricultural and OTR tires, brings expertise that strengthens the association, according to ETRMA President Chris Delaney.
ETRMA Secretary General Adam McCarthy concurred, welcoming the Italian tire maker.
"With Prometeon, our critical mass is growing," McCarthy said, "and together we can create strong synergies to work even more efficiently to address the policy challenges ahead of us."
Headquartered in Milan and established in 2017 after being spun off from Pirelli Tyre Group, Prometeon has a global distribution presence. It employs 8,000 worldwide and operates four factories and four R&D Centers.
