NIAGARA FALLS, Ontario—More than 130 companies participated in the Power Transmission Distributors Association's Canadian Conference June 4-6, discussing industry challenges, best practices and the North American market.
"This conference featured the 'who's who' of the Canadian PT/MC industry and provided attendees not only with excellent speaker and workshop sessions relevant to our industry, but also offered great networking opportunities in one convenient location," said Craig Bobbie of PTM Industries Inc.
Topics and panel discussions over two days included:
- "Reimagine Your Hiring Strategies," which offered a discussion of hiring challenges and job seeker expectations;
- "Relentless Adaptation: Four Lessons to Thrive in Our AI Future," which discussed the effects of AI on businesses operations and communications;
- "Achieve Better Outcomes with Disruptive Problem-Solving," which offered an interactive PTDA Foundation workshop on the barriers of hiring and approaching work force success; and
- Updates on the Canadian PT/MC markets from ITR Economics.
In addition, the popular Distributor-Manufacturer Idea Exchange allowed distributors and manufacturers to talk business and strategize new avenues for sales growth.
"It's a fantastic opportunity to meet with your peers as well as manufacturer or distributor executives who you may not usually have the chance to talk with," said Lisa Greenwood, BDI Canada Inc. "All PT/MC distributors across Canada should participate."
Headquartered in Chicago, PTDA represents firms with $20 billion in aggregate sales and span more than 2,700 locations. PTDA members also includes manufacturers that supply the PT/MC industry.
