HOUSTON—The International Institute of Synthetic Rubber Producers is accepting nominations for its two awards, which will be presented at the association's Annual General Meeting next spring in Dublin, Ireland.
The Institute Awards that are presented include:
- The General Award, given to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the synthetic rubber industry; and
- The Technical Award, given for significant technical contributions during their career.
Nominations can be sent to [email protected], and the deadline for submissions is Sept. 30.
The IISRP said the nominations, which need to be submitted in English, must include the award for which the candidate is nominated; must contain a "citation" and "bibliographical material" justifying the nomination; and include documentation that is "sufficient to satisfy all queries as to the qualifications of the nominee," according an association news release.
The group's Executive Committee will choose the award winners during its mid-year meeting in early November.
Any member of the institute can submit nominations for either or both awards, though nominees need not work for a member company of the IISRP.
If the Executive Committee determines that no nominees meet the standards required for the award, the association may elect not to give an award during any given year.
The Houston-based IISRP has corporate members from more than 20 countries that collectively produce more than 75 percent of the world's supply of synthetic rubber.
