WASHINGTON—The National Lieutenant Governors Association (NLGA) has endorsed the tire industry's National Tire Safety Week (NTSW), saying it recognizes the importance of regularly inspecting and maintaining a vehicle's tires.
This is the fourth consecutive year that the NLGA—the professional association for elected officials first in line of succession to the governors in the 50 states and five U.S. territories—has voiced its support for the annual National Tire Safety Week initiative organized by the U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association (USTMA).
The annual industry-led campaign, set for June 27-July 3, educates motorists about tire care, safety and maintenance and offers simple and essential steps for proper tire care and maintenance, the USTMA said.
In its endorsement of NTSW, the LGA noted its urges American motorists include regular tire inspections as an integral element of their household routines.
