BUCHEN, Germany—Making the perfect rubber compound for a given application, especially those used in harsh environments, requires hours of testing to discover fatigue parameters.
And companies like MonTech U.S.A. Rubber Testing Solutions, which has added a new lab press to its portfolio of offerings, make these strenuous tests possible.
MonTech, which is based in Columbia City, Ind., and makes its instruments in Germany, recently increased its lab press force capability to 1,500 kN with a machine that be used conjunction with larger molds, small scale production and tougher materials, like composites. The LP 3000 1500kN can be configured to single, double or triple daylight levels and the entirety of the press is enclosed with energy efficient hydraulics.
Optional work lights, signal towers and safety curtains are available to satisfy international safety requirements.
"The new 1500kN holds to the MonTech press standard of having unmatched temperature uniformity and platen parallelism within the industry," MonTech said in a Jan. 4 press release.
The firm's rubber process analyzers, moving die rheometers and fatigue testers, among many other products, stretch, stress and otherwise scorch rubber compounds and plastics, offering customers the threshold data necessary to meet a specific performance.
MonTech said its lab presses are compliant with ISO, DIN, ASTM and GB standards.
