CLEVELAND—Lubrizol Engineered Polymers has introduced a new grade of thermoplastic polyurethane for wires and cables.
The new Estane ZHF 90AM9 NAT 01 TPU has flame retardant properties, but contains no halogen atoms, according to a Jan. 18 announcement from Lubrizol.
The company claims it offers advances in performance over existing materials, noting this single material combines all the required features to ensure durable high-performance wires and cables.
The UV-stabilized product has UL 90 V-0 and UL 105°C temperature ratings and passes the UL 1581 section 1061 cable flame test on small diameter cables, with a proven use case down to 8mm in diameter.
Lubrizol is a Berkshire Hathaway company and owns more than 100 manufacturing facilities, sales and technical offices around the world with approximately 8,600 employees.
