DUESSELDORF, Germany—Kraiburg TPE GmbH & Co. K.G. will be presenting thermoplastic elastomer products at the K 2019 trade fair to be held Oct. 16-23 at the Duesseldorf Exhibition Centre.
According to a Kraiburg news release, the firm will show products for consumer and automotive applications at both Booth C58-4 and Booth E22 in Hall 6.
"Our trade fair appearance will focus, among other things, on new TPE compounds that pass migration tests even when in contact with foods that contain fat," Kraiburg CEO Franz Hinterecker said in a statement.
There also will be developments in products for emissions and odor relating to interior applications, and in thermoplastic elastomer hybrids. Kraiburg will present new materials with adhesion to acrylonitrile styrene acrylate and polymethyl methacrylate to exterior applications.
Other highlights of Kraiburg's K 2019 presentation include two custom-engineered compound series with significantly improved migration control compared to common TPEs, according to Kraiburg. The compound series are suited for closure systems, valves and seals for packaging with direct contact with fat-containing foods.
Kraiburg said it will present TPE compounds with secure, optimized odor and emission behavior for interior automotive applications. The firm worked with an independent testing institute to examine raw materials, sample histories, and packaging and test methods to develop low-emission materials for the market. It also will show TPE compounds with enhanced UV resistance and adhesion to plastics for exterior automotive applications, including ASA, EPDM and PMMA.
Another highlight will be new custom-engineered thermoplastic hybrids with chemical and thermal resistance to bridge the gap between classic elastomers and thermoplastic elastomers for use depending on application profile and applications, Kraiburg said.
Visitors also can see results of its customer-oriented strategy for niche markets, which the firm said include a cosmetics dispenser with an integrated mixing element, multi-component roof rail bases saving mounting time and an interactive learning robot for children.
Kraiburg is a manufacturer of thermoplastic elastomers for application in the automotive, industrial, consumer and medical sectors.
