ISTANBUL, Turkey—Kordsa, a subsidiary of Istanbul-based Sabanci Holding, has received yet another gold medal from sustainability evaluator EcoVadis.
Kordsa operates 13 tire, construction reinforcement and composite technologies manufacturing facilities across four continents, and has received gold medal certification in each of the last five years.
EcoVadis evaluates over 130,000 companies across nearly 220 industries worldwide on their commitments to sustainability, the company said. Kordsa ranks in the top 5 percent of companies evaluated by EcoVadis, netting it the gold medal.
Nevra Aydogan Gursoy, Kordsa's director of sustainability and communications, said that the company has achieved success through its distinct holistic approach to sustainability. Kordsa focuses on all aspects of ESG (Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance) to shape its sustainability model, Gursoy said.
"As an industrial company focused on advanced materials, we understand that the good practices we implement in key areas—such as environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement—are contributing to positive transformations in all areas we touch," Gursoy said.
Gursoy added that Kordsa's consistent recognition only further strengthens its commitment to sustainability. Having received gold medals each year since 2020, he hopes that the company will continue taking further steps forward to ensure a sustainable future for the Turkish manufacturer.
