SINGAPORE—The International Rubber Study Group has a new member on the organization's Panel of Associates.
Guild of Huleros, the natural rubber producers association in Guatemala, is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that works to develop the rubber industry in the country.
The group dates to 1970 and was established by legislative decree by the Guatemala's congress. It supports rubber producers and processors with advisory, technical assistance, training and extension, research and development, genetics, quality standards and laboratory services.
There are about 165,000 acres supporting more than 30 million rubber trees in Guatemala. That includes about 51 percent in production and 49 percent in growth, according to the guild's website.
The International Rubber Study Group, an intergovernmental group based in Singapore, works to improve transparency and strengthen international cooperation in the rubber industry.
