SINGAPORE—If you are young, interested in rubber and like to study, there's still time to get involved.
That's because the International Rubber Study Group is extending its deadline for applications to its NextGen Rubber Leaders program.
"In lieu of the current environment, we anticipated more enthusiasts will be keen to participate and bring about a new era in this industry and affiliated industries," the group said.
The program "is designed to inspire, grow and develop the world's rubber leaders of tomorrow. It serves as a platform for engaging a limited number of ambitious young professionals in national, regional and international activities and events," the group said.
Participants can contribute to global rubber discussions, help support development of policy, and "help shape solutions for tomorrow's rubber economy," the group said.
Participants cannot be older than 35 at the time of application, be able to participate in English, and have at least a bachelor's degree and have a minimum of three years of full-time and post-graduate professional experience in a rubber-related field.
To participate in the program, the group seeks a recommendation letter, written on official company or organization letterhead and containing a signature. They may be sent to [email protected]. The letter must come from someone who has worked with the candidate "and who is best placed to confirm the candidate skills and ability to contribute to the NRL and Study Group's community."
